Twelve signs of infidelity

From the slightest change in the position of the car’s passenger seat to an interest in a new hobby, the signs can often be far subtler than lipstick on a shirt collar.

1. Your partner is playing new music.
If you notice a sudden interest in a music genre or artist it might be a sign that they are mirroring someone else’s taste.

2. The passenger seat in your partner’s car has been adjusted.
Movement of the passenger seat indicates that someone else has been riding shotgun.

3. There’s more mileage on the car than there should be.
If you notice a big increase in your partner’s average mileage, it’s a big warning sign.

4. Your partner is protective of their phone, social media, or email.
They might take their phone to the bathroom, keep it on silent, or always keep it face down. Calls are taken in a different room, and email programs are password-protected.

5. There’s a dramatic change in your partner’s sex drive.
More or less sex in the relationship indicates your partner could be feeling guilty and tries to cover it up by initiating or avoiding sex.

6. Communication between the two of you has declined.
This could be little things, like everyday small talk, or big things like refusing to discuss the future.

7. Your partner gets new clothes and underwear.
If new clothes and/or underwear have been purchased, they might be making more of an effort for someone else.

8. You notice a change in your partner’s personality.
It could be that they’re being more secretive, more argumentative, or less affectionate.

9. Your partner wants to do their own laundry.
They don’t want you looking through their pockets, seeing lipstick marks, or smelling different scents.

10. Your partner starts using new phrases.
This indicates that someone else is influencing them.

11. Your partner is spending more money than usual.
They might be spending money on clothes, hotels, or gifts.

12. You notice your partner not wearing their wedding ring.
This shows that they don’t want to appear to be in a committed relationship.
